The purpose of this course is to inform and aid in gaining competency for Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) operator. At the successful completion of the course the operator will be able to describe the safe operation, prepare, test, and recommission CABA equipment; wear and monitor a CABA; and implement emergency procedures.

Breathing Apparatus is provided to help you safely evacuate a confined space if the gas monitoring equipment indicates a problem with the atmosphere. It will also help sustain life if you get into difficulties whilst in a confined space, until you can be rescued by the emergency services.

  • Describe the safe operation of a compressed air breathing apparatus
    (CABA).
  • Prepare, test, and recommission CABA equipment.
