The Oral Examination Preparation Training covers how to prepare for the oral panel to gain a new Certificate of Competency granted under the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016.
Oral Examination Preparation Course
Learning Objectives:
- Personal presentation.
- Understand the new legislative documents and how they can be used effectively.
- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of a-A and B Grade Managers regarding legislative requirements.
- Understand the key safety processes and procedures that make up / within a safety management system.
- Emergency management what it entails, how it can be developed.
- Legislative requirement of Emergency Procedures.
- Understand principle hazards and principle hazard management plans.
- Understand risk management and how it can be used in developing a safer workplace.
- Legislative requirement on Risk Management.
- Provide an effective response to an emergency scenario, preventing escalation and working within legislative requirements.
- Understand worker health monitoring.
- Duties to notify regulator.
- Practical presentation skills.
Trainees attending the Oral Examination Preparation course will have to bring the following documents to the training if possible:
- Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
- HSW (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016.
- HSW (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016.
- Best Practice Guidelines Health and Safety at Opencast Mines, Alluvial Mines and Quarries.
