In the time it takes for more advanced care to arrive, first aid aims to prevent medical conditions from deteriorating, help relieve pain, and provide reassurance. This 1-day course is ideal for first aiders in workplaces and anyone wanting to learn first aid. First Aid Level 2 is covering all Units Standard 6400, 6401 and 6402 and content from First Aid Level 1.
First Aid - Level 2
NZQA 6400- Manage first aid in an emergency situation - Level 3, 2 Credits

Course overview:
The importance of first aid is recognised all over the world and its capacity to make a difference cannot be overstated.
In this training you will learn all about;
- Bleeding and shock

- Heart attacks and chest pain
- Strokes
- Seizures
- Fractures and dislocations
- Soft tissues injuries
- Allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)

NZQA 6402- Provide basic life support - Level 1, 1 Credit

- Scene and hazard management
- Patient positioning and assessment
- CPR (adults, children, infants)
- Defibrillator (AED) use
- Choking (adults, children, infants)
- General care.
