Lift and Move Loads using mobile plant in Infrastructure Training

NZQA 31245 - Plan for and lift, move, and place loads using mobile plant, in infrastructure works environment - Level 3, 5 Credits

Course overview:
This training will give trainees the skills and knowledge to plan for and lift, move and place loads using mobile plants in an infrastructure works environment.

PRE-REQUISITE:

Class of driver license and endorsements required for the vehicle being driven.  It is recommended that trainees also complete NZQA Unit 30072 - Demonstrate and apply knowledge of slinging regular loads safely.

Key Learning Objectives:

Learners credited with this unit standard are able to:

  • Plan for lifting, moving and placing loads using mobile plant in an infrastructure works environment.
  • Lift, move and place loads using mobile plant in an infrastructure works environment.

Refresher Training

The criteria for refresher courses remain the same as previously, the learner must already hold the Unit Standards they are refreshing.

Refresher training is not a legal requirement; however, it is strongly recommended to ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Legislation and its industry "good practice" guidelines.

It is generally seen as good work practice that trainees refresh these unit standards every 3 years.  Duration of this course is 4 hours and will cover the unit Standards and a practical exercise to reinforce the trainee's knowledge on using the mobile plant equipment correctly.  (The practical exercise can be replaced with our Workplace verifier process - This process is simple; a workplace verifier confirms the competency of the learner performing the tasks being refreshed by completing our Attestation form).
